This collaboration marks a significant step in providing aspiring filmmakers and technicians with top-tier professional training, mentorship, and industry exposure in the heart of Kerala’s thriving film industry.

Innovative Film Academy Cochin, in Collaboration with MACTA

The Malayalam Cine Technicians Association (MACTA), established on May 8, 1994, is the first formal organization representing creative technicians in the Malayalam Motion Picture Industry. Committed to the welfare of its members and the advancement of Kerala’s film industry and cinematic arts, MACTA is registered under the Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific, and Charitable Societies Registration Act of 1995.

Founded by legendary filmmakers such as Joshi, K.G. George, S. N. Swamy, and Kaloor Dennis, MACTA boasts a distinguished membership that includes icons like M.T. Vasudevan Nair and Adoor Gopalakrishnan, as well as emerging directors and writers. Today, it stands as Kerala’s largest cultural association in the film industry.

Over the years, MACTA has played a pivotal role in shaping Malayalam cinema by organizing cultural events, film festivals, and flagship programs such as “Sangeetha Sangamam” and “Guru Pranamam.” It also conducts annual camps and conferences for students and writers, fostering creativity and professional growth in the industry.
